Gary T. Heap, CCIE(r) #6411, is a Senior Network Systems Engineer for Cornerstone Internetworking Solutions, where he provides consulting and project services for various companies throughout the US. He has over 4 years of experience in analyzing, configuring, and managing large networks. Previous to joining Cornerstone, Gary worked as a Technical Solutions Consultant for Sprint ESolutions. His project experience at Sprint included upgrading routers, switches, and dial backup for a nationwide network; configuring backbone routers for wireless ISP; network assessment; and WAN redesign.

Lynn Maynes, CCIE #6569, is a Technical Solutions Consultant for Sprint ESolutions, where he provides network integration and project management services to various companies. He has over 8 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting networking and telecommunications solutions. His experience with Sprint includes upgrading a nationwide network with routers, switches, and dial backup, installing backbone routers for wireless ISP, designing ISP network services over Sprint's DSL network, and network performance analysis and assessment. Previous to joining Sprint, Lynn worked for Kennecott, providing WAN support, LAN/WAN connectivity, and DCHP design and implementation. Lynn holds a BA in International Business from Westminster College.

Starting hands-on, just what the doctor ordered

I believe the Cisco Practical series, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE is perfect. I need lots of hands on, over and over again.
Yes I can understand from 2 earlier reviewers that in order to really get the maximum use out of these practicals you need access to Cisco equipment. So a great deal of $$ equipment commitment is required. But unlike MCSE, where you can put 2 PCs together and you are off to the races, that is a major decision, no doubt about that.
I have CCNA, CCNP, CCDP and looking at someday doing the CCIE :) :), tougue in cheek. I am not sure how REALLY serious I am but I have spent a fair amount of $$ on Cisco gear. So unless I get a lot of hands on at work, getting the necessary hands on, the amount of practice needed is GONNA be on my own time. So I have brought as many Cisco Practical books as I can afford, and SLOWLY will work my way thru the books/hands on labs.
So I am slowly working my way thru the labs/hands on, and it definitely helps me at work from CCNA PRactical thru CCNP Practicals.

The "Swiss Army Knife" of vRealize handbooks!

This is a great "go to" book for vRealize Automation. I originally bought it in order to get an overview of the product (so that I could better implement it into our companies cloud migration plan). However it has quickly became the Swiss army knife answer through all stages of our roll out. As well as being well written and easy to follow, the walk throughs and tips given help in almost every possible scenario. There are plenty of diagrams and illustrations to help through some of the heavier points. However the only small point I would make is that some of them seem a little low res, but not so that they are in any way unusable or unreadable. In conclusion a must have for all vRealize users or reviewers.

I purchased the Kindle version of this book. While technically good, the diagrams are awful. Some are impossible to view. I would advise buyers to go for the hard coipy and avoid the Kindle version like the plague.

As in his new book on Rogers Drums, Rob tells us everything there is to know about the Slingerland company, the founding family, the business, and most importantly, the drums. A labor of love!

I don't know how long it took this guy to dig out all this detail, but I'm glad he did. This book gives all the production "clues" for dating druums from 1928 to 1985.
