He and Kalana use Tibby’s Mirage Fighter, the ALI to join up with the NEW ORLEANS at Plosaxen. Before they arrive, the Brotherhood, on the HAPRIN, is joined by their ally a Tottalax warship. When Tibby and Kalana arrive, the cloaked NEW ORLEANS is taking heavy fire acting as an invisible shield. Tibby and Kalana are forced to remain cloaked themselves while they wait for the battle to wane so they can board the NEW ORLEANS, however, before they can do so the Tottalax unleashes their sleep weapon in an attempt to disable the NEW ORLEANS crew. Tibby and Kalana are rendered unconscious aboard the ALI as ship continues on its flight path after colliding with the Tottalax. Tibby awakens to alarms going off and the ALI is about to crash into a planet. He discovers his ship has apparently been damaged by an impact with the HAPRIN after he and Kalana lost consciousness. Tibby is barely able to make an emergency landing on the remote desert planet aptly named Desolation when Kalana awakens and announces she is going into labor. Tibby must help Kalana deliver the twins; the ALI is unable to take off or fly again, and nearest help is two light-years away Tibby activates an emergency signal for assistance and rescue, knowing it may be years, if ever, that it will be detected and help arrives.
Tibby has no way of knowing what is happening with the war against the Brotherhood. He knows he needs to get back and take command of the 1st fleet but for now he must focus on caring for Kalana and the twins in a hostile environment, with strange nocturnal creatures on a planet that seems dead by day but comes to life after the sun sets. As time progresses, Tibby must deal with the nagging thought of who will hear his emergency message and arrive first, his friends to rescue him, or the Brotherhood that seeks to kill him.

I have been an avid reader of science fiction for over 50 years and in all that time, I have only seen a hand full of science fiction books that incorporate families in the story. In the Solbidyum Wars Saga, starting with book 5, I try a new approach by bringing children into the saga as Tibby and Kalana have twins.� Throughout this book and the rest of the saga, you will get to read about these children growing as seen through the eyes of their father.� Like most fathers, especially those in the military, getting to spend time with one's children is never often enough, but yet bonds are developed, and interactions take place.� I am hoping that by bringing these children into the story it will add an element that will make the stories more realistic, even though they are fiction. I am hoping you will find this addition to the stories interesting and fun, and for those readers who are parents, I hope you can find elements that you can relate to with your own memories of raising your children.� For the rest of you, be assured there still will be plenty of action and intrigue as the war continues to grow, and Tibby leads the battle against the evil Brotherhood.

About the Author
Dale Musser was born in 1944 in a small rural community of Pennsylvania.� From 1967 until 2012 he was employed as a structural and piping designer in the industries of marine and offshore resources, cogeneration power and hard rock mining.� His work at three shipyards and assignments with several engineering and naval architectural firms during his careers in Virginia, Texas, and Maine, took him to such places as London, U.K., Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., Scotland and Mexico.� During this time, he was responsible for the design of reactor compartments for nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines for the U.S. Navy and the structural designs of numerous offshore semi-submersible oil rigs, tanker ships, supply boats, and other vessels and equipment used in the offshore industry.� After the death of his wife in 1999, Mr.�Musser changed careers and went to work in Arizona and Utah in the hard rock mining industry.� He retired in the Fall of 2012 and currently resides in Mesa, Arizona.
Dale enjoys rock hunting and lapidary work, gourmet cooking, writing, poetry, art, music, religions�and philosophy in small doses, astronomy and the sciences in general, hiking, camping, the outdoors and the gifts that nature provides.� Mr.�Musser is a member of Mensa and remains an avid reader, having lost count of all the books he has read after 3,000.
The greatest joy in his life is his daughter, Heather.� Affectionately they call each other "BUBBY."

buckle up and enjoy the ride

Dale-Dale-Dale - brilliantly written, technically-dramatically-comically - I am upset though, as I couldn't put the book down and now have to wait for book 6. All the while, hoping there will be 60 books - the story line you've created is one like I've never experienced before. the depth of characters is phenomenal and your insight to their technology blows me away, this progression seems believable and real. It's also easy to connect with every character, their personalities and emotions bring your books to life. now, I must tell you, I've changed my mind. I've hoped since book one, that your vision makes it to the big screen... A two hour movie, even with sequels will do your books no justice. I'm hoping that one day, everyone will enjoy your stories on the sci-fi channel in a weekly series, that would last several seasons. I eagerly await book 6. Again, great job and thank you for taking my mind on a trip through the Galaxy and beyond.

Un libro que lastimosamente ha llegado tarde, a un mundo que se ha vuelto pol�ticamente correcto

Tuve la oportunidad de leer este libro en ingles hace un a�o y ahora que est� la versi�n en espa�ol he aprovechado a comprarlo y leerlo de nuevo. Hay unas actualizaciones nuevas en esta version.

Cuando le� este libro no ten�a idea del Islam, el Cor�n y mucho menos Mahoma. No ten�a idea de como poder explicar todos los sucesos y mas a�n tanta confusi�n expresada en nuestros medios de noticias, adem�s pol�ticos y expertos en el medio. Siempre me pareci� un tema distante, y realmente estaba a favor de la multiculturalidad y el derecho de los musulmanes para expresar su religi�n. Sin embargo, gracias a los hechos expuestos por el Dr. Warner en este libro me pude dar cuenta de la agenda pol�tica que posee el Islam y como esto ha esta ocurriendo desde hace 1400 a�os.

M�s importante me pude dar cuenta de como, siendo un no creyente del Islam, los textos del Islam hablan sobre como deben tratarme y manipularme y adem�s me han etiquetado como un Kafir. Y el Kafir es casi tratado como un animal bajo un gobierno en el que la ley Shar�a es la ley de la tierra.

Adem�s de esto, el contenido de Bill Warner se caracter�za por no ser personal y religioso sino que basado en hechos. Cada uno de sus cap�tulos puede ser vinculados directo al Cor�n, la Sira y el Hadiz, dejando claramente que de lo que el habla es realmente Islam.

Sin duda alguna, hay muy pocos que se atreven a decir las cosas asi de claras y uno de ellos es Bill Warner con sus libros. Y este libro lo recomiendo para todo aquel amante de la liberta y los derechos humanos.

Coming with zero knowledge about Islam, this book served me well as a practical, easy to read, eye-opening introduction. I think many things were either vague, general or influenced by author's opinion but this is good because now I feel I'm introduced to the topic and I want to research more about this political-religious system and their current course of action in the world. A must read for beginners.

Bill Warner hace un gran an�lisis de los hechos y la doctrina del Islam y la plasma en un texto sencillo y al grano.

Lo �nico que se siente, como si quedar� corto ya que solo establece los hechos y no se hacen propuestas sobre el tema.

Charles Burns lays the ink, touches the dark heart of Americ

My wife doesn't like this book. That's all you need to know. Go for it. Well, I'll vouchsafe a bit more. A cartoonist I was talking to once put it very neatly. Speaking of his education by another cartoonist, he said "he taught me the art of knowing where to put the ink." Sounds silly, I know, but think about that next time you look at a B&W comic book. To me, Charles Burns might well be the first book I'd hand to someone, as Exhibit A of knowing where to put the ink. And I haven't even gotten around to discussing his subject matter, yet! You need to know that Burns' work is very emotional, more than a little surreal, peopled by montrous humanoids, a little too familiar for my tastes; most people would say ugly, the rest, beautiful. Themes of doglike love, the rampage of spirituality gone hopelessly awry, the pieces of passion exploded beyond recognition, and stitched together like a calico cat. It's all here. Good luck.

Dark, Twisted and Funny

I confess to being a Burns freak, owning everything I can find of his - even if he only has one or two pages in a book, I will buy it. This doesn't disappoint if you are a fan of Burns, or just enjoy comix that are deeply twisted, some sort of hell from the inside of a demented mind. Burns has a distinctive way with the pen and the comix themselves are also enjoyable.

If you have the Penguin Books 1992 version of SKIN DEEP, then you have 95% of the content of this edition. The Stories "Dog Days" and "Burn Again" were published as weekly strips between 1988 and 1991. The story "A Marriage Made in Hell" was published as a whole in RAW back in 1984.
If you were paying attention, you'll recognize "Dog Days" as the source material for the brilliant live action serial "Dog Boy" which ran on MTV's LIQUID TELEVISION.
For this souped up version of SKIN DEEP (volume 3 in The Charles Burns Library), there are new covers, new interior front and back pieces, and an epilogue with a little explanatory verse and some collected bits and pieces including: a Burns cover for BLAST magazine (1991, which also serialized Dog Boy), black and white reproductions of the 1992 edition covers and endpieces, a self portrait which also appeared on the cover of Comics Journal in 1992 and some fabulous Burns "wallpaper" which you are encouraged to photocopy to use as such.
Very satisfying for the Burn enthusiast.
This edition was delayed several times, probably due to the time consuming and painstaking efforts that go into his creations.
It's definitely worth the effort. Thanks Charles!

Repetitive and Not Realistic

This book could have been reduced to less than 50 pages. The same thing being repeated over and over, just with different scenarios, does not increase the message. Also, I disagree with the mere statements made that we are brainwashed to respond and act in specific ways. His reference to the milkshake and the big Mac in this book is pure stupid. No one in there right mind would refund or replace the meal. This word of "art" he uses is a good way to try to make you feel good. Reality, put your best foot forward, work your best, put forth your suggestions, but if you are out of compliance and obedience you will not continue to work for any company.
I appreciate his wisdom and attempt to promote one self purpose. He may be a linchpin in his endeavours. He must be, he got my business to buy this book and make it a reading project. His profit made.
I found this book none changing. More of a topic for discussion between those he git to believe in his views and those who live in reality that every one is a cog. You earn your way out if being the cog to the linchpin but being compliant and obedient. Along with presentation of ideas and suggestions.
Work hard, learn well, abide by the rules and be successful. That is business and the future of business.

Great idea, but a bit disjointed

The linchpin idea resonated, hence the reason that I bought the book. I've only read a couple of Seth's books and I now remember why...for me, he's all over the map. He "sold" me early on, but it seemed that he just kept trying to "sell" me over and over again by rehashing the same arguments over and over in a different order. I'll accept that this may be more about me than him.

Head Games

When a book is really good, I will sometimes throw it across a room and scream "I always thought that was true, but never had the (guts, ambition, intelligence) to (say, write) it myself!"
So Seth Godin has written a very provocative book. I cribbed some quotes to use later in my own writing/teaching. But at the end, I'm asking myself, "So besides write and talk, what has Seth done down here in the real world with real employees and real bosses?" He lists himself as the CEO of something, but it's not a real company... So I'm thinking Seth is like my favorite preacher: full of good words and good thoughts, but at the same time, vastly out of touch with the real world. Check out all the unemployed talent in Hollywood and feel their pain. Consider the artists selling shoes because they want to eat. Perhaps there is genius within, but perhaps the world has a limited appetite/tolerance for greatness.
